Today kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week! Be sure to send a little thank you to your teachers, it goes a long way! Lisa Shullanberger teaches ELA 12, Honors English, Career & Personal Finance, and Leadership. She also supervises National Honor Society. Lisa is a key member of our school, there is not enough space to list all of her contributions in this short shout out. She continually strives to make our school a better place both inside and outside of the classroom by managing events, holding high expectations, preserving Honker traditions, being a staff mentor, and so much more. Thank you Lisa for all you do, LHS/DMS would not be the same without you! We hope you will join us in celebrating our teachers May 8 - May 12 !

Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! One more day to go! Kaitlyn McAllister teaches Algebra I, Geometry, and Math Lab at LHS. She also served as an assistant coach for Middle School Volleyball and for High School Track. Kaitlyn is always looking out for her students and can often be found checking on them when it seems they've had an off day. She is a great partner with our counseling program and connecting students with what they need. Thank you Kaitlyn for all you do for our students! Carlos works extremely hard for his students and is continually looking to improve his programs. We are excited to see him start his educational career back at LHS with us. We are so happy to have Kristy back at the high school. She does an outstanding job teaching in a variety of ways to help all kids learn including field trips and project based learning. Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! One more day to go! Danielle Thames runs our resource room at LHS/DMS. Danielle is also an adult supervisor for Sources of Strength. She is enthusiastic about helping students and can be found at lunch time helping students get lunch and opening her door to them. Even on her own time she wants to help students feel safe and comfortable. Thank you Dani for all you do! Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Two more days to go! Lacey Howard teaches pre-calculus, calculus, and liberal arts math at LHS. Lacey came in mid year and does an incredible job! She does math tutoring after school as well, we appreciate her dedication to students and passion for math. We are so excited to have her back with us next year! Thank you Lacey for all you do! Thank you to everyone who contributed to Bobbie's scrap book. We collected photos and letters from students throughout her time at LHS/DMS. The Sports Medicine students and Keli Hall presented it to her this week. She loved the book and we can't thank you all enough for coming together to make it happen. A special thank you to Keli Hall for putting the scrap book together. THANK YOU BOBBIE STENINGER for your 60 YEARS of service to the students, athletes, and staff at LHS/DMS.

He has a magical power that allows electronics to remedy themselves whenever he walks into the room, embarrassing all who ask for help with their technology. All jokes aside, Evan does an incredible job keeping LCSD7 running and teaching his hands on computer class. Thank you Evan for all you do! Jessie May stepped in as a long term sub second semester. We appreciate her willingness to step in and take on ELA 11. Thank you Jessie May for all your hard work! Food Share Mural completed! Kudos to LHS Art Teacher Kamaryn Schneider and her Advanced Art Students for all the hard work on the giant mural. Special thanks to the Lake County Food Share for all their support and partnership with the Lake County School District.✨

Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Three more days to go! Mason Vickerman teaches Welding Advances Woods, Ag Mechanics, Trades, Construction, and Middle School Shop at LHS/DMS. Mason has worked closely with our Ag teacher Kaylie to be able to offer his classes as FFA and take students to FFA competitions. He has also worked hard to bring in and establish new stations and curriculum in welding and shop classrooms. Thank you Mason for all your hard work! Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Four more days to go! David and Stephanie Castro are the dynamic duo! They teach students regulation techniques in our Student Success Room and teach English Essentials. The work they have done in the Student Success Room is incredible including new electronic sign in and sign out systems. Thanks to them many of our students are not only more successful in school but also in life. Thank you both for all you do! She also helps with softball and has agreed to continue the annual 8th Grade Washington DC Trip. Thank you Alex for all you do and congratulations on the newest addition to your family! We also want to thank Nate Sawin for being Alex's long term sub. It is not easy to step in and fulfill a full time teaching job mid year, we appreciate all your hard work!
