IMPORTANT MESSAGE!
January 13th, 2022
Due to the sixfold increase from the last two weeks in the number of Covid-19 Omicron Variant Cases, I find it necessary to take the proactive step of taking a “Pause” for one week canceling all afterschool activities and extracurricular events on our campuses. Beginning today and ending on Friday, January 21st, 2022. This includes clubs and community events. School will remain open and in regular session following all the guidelines and mandates.
Under this one week “Pause” we will need to follow these guidelines:
- Activities already scheduled off campus will be allowed to continue following the host sites safety guidelines.
- Sports teams can continue to conduct their regular practices as a “cohort” group in order to keep in shape and prepare for their next scheduled contest.
- Extra disinfection will be completed after each practice and there will not be sharing of the facilities with other teams at the same time.
I’m sorry for any inconvenience that this “pause” causes to anyone, but it is one proactive step that the district can do as an attempt to slow down the virus in our area/region.
If you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at 541-947-3347. Together we will get through this new crisis development as we have in the past.
Thanks for your continued support and dedication to our students and wonderful Lakeview community.
Sincerely,
R. Michael Carter
Superintendent Lake County School District #7
