LCSD 7 News

Lake County School District 7
Superintendent's Message 2021-22

I’m excited about what is ahead for our LCSD7 and our Lakeview community as we continue to put the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic behind us and address our future. Every team member of the LCSD7 worked hard over the past year and we were able to have school in person all year, which was a major achievement and something to celebrate. Our team, with board support, has worked hard to ensure we have the right programs, staff and resources to build the foundation to move the district to the next level of success.

It is the district’s plan to continue to provide a traditional school schedule this year with all students learning in-person. As an educator, I’m excited about everything that will be possible this year for our students as we open up all of our amenities, programs and school activities. It is a pleasure to work and serve in the LCSD7 and everyone is looking forward to what we will accomplish this year. Every employee has a renewed commitment to meeting the needs of each and every student, not only in the classroom but from a social and emotional viewpoint as well. We’re expanding our focus on overall well-being by adding more behavioral supports, Trauma Informed Care trainings, and various other programs to ensure we care for the whole child. This year the LCSD7 will have a laser focus on identifying and eliminating barriers to student success so that we can ensure excellent, equitable outcomes for every child in our district.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support of the school district and as always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to drop by the district office, email or give me a call. As we begin this new school year always remember to “Keep the Big Picture Burning Brightly.”

Sincerely,
R. Michael Carter
